The stage was set for the launch of the new Pilgrim’s Shared Services Ltd. (PSSL) business unit which went live on 1st June 2022

From day one, the Pilgrim’s UK, Moy Park and Pilgrim’s Food Masters businesses will be able to benefit from the expertise of team members working in the IT, Transactional Services (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Master Data, Payroll and Continuous Improvement), Legal, Procurement (except PFM Direct Materials & Meat at this stage), Internal Audit and Treasury. Target Operating Models for each of these functions have been finalised.

This is a tremendously exciting time for both PSSL and the three other UK business units which we will be supporting with our new centres of excellence. For team members in our new organisation, this means working together to begin creating the identity, culture and community we want to have, reflecting the core values, methodology and vision we share with our sister organisations.

We have a series of engagement activities planned for the coming weeks which will provide everyone with greater insight into the new business and how the functions will work, including team meetings, Senior Leadership Team vlogs and further business updates.

For Pilgrim’s UK and Moy Park, it is very much a case of business as usual, while for Pilgrim’s Food Masters it means we can provide dedicated support as part of the Pilgrim’s organisation. The creation of this new company will also futureproof the Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation group in the UK in terms of growth and acquisitions.

Phase 2

We have recently conducted briefings with team members in HR, Financial Services and the Agri Systems & MTech Shared Service Team with regard to a proposal to transfer Financial Services, Reward & Engagement, Learning & Development (group function) and the Agri Systems team to Pilgrim’s Shared Services with effect from 1st August 2022.

Preparations are being put into place to appoint employee representatives for consulting with impacted team members with regard to the TUPE process of transferring employees to Pilgrim’s Shared Services. Further communication will issue once Target Operating Models for each of these respective teams has been defined.

There have been some new opportunities advertised for Financial Services and HR within PSSL to ensure support is in place for Pilgrim’s Food Masters in preparation for the end of the Transitional Services Agreement from September 2022, and to support PSSL as a Business Unit.

Recruitment

We are currently advertising a number of opportunities within PSSL across IT, Transactional Services, Procurement, Internal Audit, HR and Financial Services. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our team members across the functions who will be embarking on this exciting opportunity, as part of the PSSL and the wider Pilgrim’s family, from 1st June for their support and commitment over the past few months and we look forward to working together to be the best and most respected company in our industry.
